Paddock House Farm Holiday Cottages are six farm style cottages located two miles to the north of Alstonefield village in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire. Alstonefield lies towards the south of the Park and is surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful valleys. The Dovedale and Manifold valleys lie to the immediate east and west of the village.

Located on a spacious 35-acre ground, the cottages lie among 5 acres of gardens and grassland with a tree-lined drive. Vacationers can enjoy a true picnic experience right on the grounds that also offer picnic benches and barbeque facilities. Going out, you can experience real countryside life walking, riding or just soaking in the beauty of the surroundings.

The holiday cottages, heated by oil-fired central heating with individual thermostatic controlled radiators are ideal for a winter holiday vacation. You will have hot water 24 hours seven days of the week. At two of the cottages, Ash and Beech, you can enjoy open coal fires that recreate a bygone atmosphere.

The holiday cottages are located in an ideal location from which you can explore a number of attractions on all four corners (and sub corners). Interesting towns and villages such as Ashbourne, Buxton, Leek, Matlock & Matlock Bath lie towards the south, north, west and east. The theme park of Alton Towers in the grounds of a semi-ruined gothic revival country house lie towards the southwest; driving further down, you can reach West Midland Safari and Leisure Park which is home to 165 species of exotic animals many of which are endangered.

There are several historic halls and museums that you can visit from the base. These include the Chatsworth House, Blakewell Old House Museum, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Subury Hall, Eyam Museum and Sir Richard Arkwright’s Cromford Mill. These historic reminders can introduce your children to life in olden times.

Local public houses and restaurants include the The George, Manifold Inn and The Watts Russell Arms.

Self Catering Accommodation

All the holiday cottages have fully equipped kitchens that come with electric hob and cooker, dishwasher, fully fitted cupboards and dining table. A full supply of cutlery and crockery are also included. You can thus have a home-away-from-home experience cooking and eating just what you prefer and also saving on expensive eating out.

Convenience and In-House Entertainment

All bedrooms have standard size double or single beds, pine chest of draws and wardrobes, CD alarm clock radios. The main bathrooms come complete with shower over the bath, wash hand basin and WC. The sitting area/lounge will have a sofa-bed for additional sleeping accommodation.

A fully equipped laundry means that you don’t have to carry a full wardrobe during your travel. Instead, you can launder the few essential clothes you bring and keep yourself well-dressed.

TV, DVD, Freesat (Freeview via satellite) and Video provide in-house entertainment and make sure that you do not miss out on your favorite serials and events.

Paddock Farm House Holiday Cottages offer more than what you might expect.
